13 Ways to Live Like Martha Stewart

Martha Stewart is a magnificent and impressive woman with a lot of wisdom to share. Is she perfect? No. But we could all probably learn a thing or two from her about how to live our lives to the fullest.

After all, she’s one of the most successful and respected businesswomen ever, and she seems to love her life. These are some pieces of advice from the lifestyle guru on how to make the most of each moment and be kind to yourself.

1. Rise With the Sun

Rise with the sun to make the most of your day. Early mornings offer a peaceful time to plan, reflect, and set intentions for the day ahead. Martha is known for her early morning routine. She explains, “I generally wake up at 5:00 or 5:30 AM, sometimes earlier”. Martha even changes her bedsheets each morning as a treat to herself.

Starting early also gives you a sense of accomplishment that can boost your mood and motivation for the rest of the day. Plus, you’ll have more time to enjoy your hobbies or spend with loved ones in the evening.

2. Drink (or Chug) Green Juice

Kickstart your mornings with a nutritious green juice. Martha swears by her daily green drink, saying “My green juice in the morning is very important”. This healthy habit can lead to clearer skin, better digestion, and increased vitality throughout the day.

Green juice is packed with vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants that can boost your energy and support your immune system. It’s an easy way to increase your vegetable intake and improve your overall nutrition. Making your own juice at home allows you to control the ingredients and avoid added sugars. We promise they can taste yummy with the right recipe.

3. Be Active and Adventurous

Regular exercise is crucial for both physical and mental health. It can improve cardiovascular health, strengthen muscles and bones, and boost mood and cognitive function. But it doesn’t have to be a boring gym workout. Martha rides horses weekly, along with swimming and other activities.

If the treadmill isn’t your thing, find creative ways to move your body. There are no rules! Remember, exercise doesn’t have to be intense to be beneficial – even moderate activities like brisk walking or gardening can have significant health benefits.

4. Wash Your Face & Use SPF

Take care of your skin. Martha advises: “I never go to bed with my makeup on. I cleanse myself extremely well”. Listen, we get it. You’re sleepy and just want to pass out in bed, not get all wet in the sink. But a consistent skincare routine is essential for maintaining healthy, youthful-looking skin. That’s why Martha is so stunning!

It also prepares your skin to better absorb moisturizers and treatments. Investing time in your skincare routine is a form of self-care that can boost your confidence and help you feel your best. Remember to tailor your routine to your skin type and concerns, and don’t forget to protect your skin from sun damage with daily SPF (Martha always wears SPF).

5. Leave Your Comfort Zone

Don’t be afraid to try new things. Martha encourages: “Be fearless, change is good”. Embracing fearlessness can open up a world of opportunities and experiences. It allows you to step out of your comfort zone and grow both personally and professionally.

This mindset can lead to increased confidence, resilience, and adaptability. It can also lead to a whole lot of fun and adventure. Remember, some of life’s best experiences and achievements come from taking risks and trying new things.

6. Stay Curious

Never stop learning. Martha believes in constant growth, stating: “When you’re through changing, you’re through”. Whoa. She’s so cool, right? And she’s 100% right.

Curiosity is the driving force behind personal growth and innovation. It keeps your mind active and engaged, helping to prevent cognitive decline as you age. Staying curious is staying young. Embrace lifelong learning by reading widely, trying new experiences, and asking questions – you never know where your curiosity might lead you.

7. Love Yourself Through Food

Okay, this isn’t exactly a Martha-specific tip, but it’s still worth mentioning. Martha emphasizes: “I eat extremely well. I take care of myself”. She’s all about quality over quantity, and you should be too.

When you eat nutritious, delicious food, you don’t feel the need to gorge yourself. Good nutrition is the foundation of overall health and well-being. Remember, eating well doesn’t mean depriving yourself – it’s about nourishing your body with wholesome foods while still enjoying treats in moderation.

8. Pursue Your Passions

It’s never too late to start something new. Martha started her business when she was 50, and she’s not slowing down anytime soon. What is the point of living if you don’t chase your passions? It gives you a sense of purpose and can even lead to new career opportunities.

Don’t let age or fear hold you back from exploring your interests. Furthermore, success isn’t always about financial gain – it’s about finding joy and satisfaction in what you do.

9. Be Productive

Make the most of your time. Martha values productivity, saying: “Being productive, being persistent, being very creative… was a very good thing”. It’s kind of like her mantra or her motto. Being productive doesn’t mean you need to be making money at every moment. You can be productive without feeding the capitalist machine, which, admittedly, Martha is an operator of.

Productivity also isn’t about being busy all the time; it’s about using your time efficiently to accomplish your goals. Being productive can give you a sense of accomplishment and help you achieve your personal and professional goals.

10. Look on the Bright Side

Stay optimistic! It’s easier said than done, but it’s impossible if you don’t try. Martha says she always tries to be positive, even when things go wrong.

Optimism has been linked to better health outcomes, increased resilience, and greater success in personal and professional endeavors. Practice gratitude and surround yourself with positive people who uplift and support you. Maintaining a positive attitude means approaching obstacles and problems with confidence and hope.

11. Spend Time on Yourself

Here is some advice from Martha straight to you: “Once you realize that you have identified a passion, invest in yourself”. Investing in yourself is one of the best investments you can make, and it will pay off every. single. time.

This could mean furthering your education, attending workshops or conferences, or hiring a coach or mentor. The skills and knowledge you gain can benefit not only you but also those around you. It’s undeniable that genuine personal development leads to a more fulfilling life.

12. Surround Yourself With Vibrant People

Choose your company wisely. We are who are friends are, so be friends with interesting and positive people. Martha says “Seek out people to work with who are brimming with talent, energy, integrity, optimism, and generosity”.

The people you surround yourself with can have a significant impact on your mindset, motivation, and success. Spend time with individuals who inspire and challenge you to be your best self. Building a network of talented and positive people can open up new opportunities and perspectives in every aspect of your life.

Stay receptive to new ideas. An open mind allows you to consider different perspectives and adapt to new situations. It can lead to creative problem-solving and innovation in both your personal and professional life. Martha believes that “Without an open mind, you can never be a great success”.

Being open-minded can also help you learn from your mistakes and grow from criticism. Be willing to consider new ideas and change your mind when presented with compelling evidence. That’s the sign of a well-rounded, thoughtful human.
